The Romanian National Meteorology Administration updated Thursday the code yellow warning issued the day before, which included half the country. The new warning includes all counties, except for southeastern Romania’s Tulcea and Constanta.
Thus, according to the new warning, starting Thursday, 15.00 local time, and until Friday, 18.00, atmospheric instability will be temporarily greater in Romanian regions Maramures, Transilvania, the greater part of Oltenia, Muntenia and Moldova, as well as the mountain areas nation wide.
"This instability will result in short gusts of wind, isolated storms, lightning, rain and, on limited surfaces, hail. Rain will be heavy, especially in the north and center of the country, as water quantities will, on occasion, exceed 25-30 liters per square meter, and in mountain areas the water volume will reach 40-50 liters per square meter,” the weather authority said in the warning updated Thursday.
