Romanian Magyar Party Sees Dual Choice, Govt Or Opposition

The president of the Democratic Union of Magyars in Romania, Marko Bela, told MEDIAFAX Saturday that he does not accept the proposition of the democrat liberals through which the Union would only receive secretary of state positions. He added PDL won the elections but lost the negotiations with PSD.

"We will either be in the government or in opposition. We will either be equal partners in a coalition or the Union will undertake opposition ," said the UDMR leader.

According to his statements, the solution chosen by PDL and PSD removes the Union from the Government, and makes it "tolerated in several positions."
 
"We need to notice that, unfortunately, PDL won the elections but lost the negotiations with PSD,” Marko Bela concluded.
