The new station would extend the M2 trunk line past Berceni station, in the city's southern area. The station will have only one line initially and will be later expanded with a second, while the average wait time will be of 15 minutes.

According to the protocol, the station could be ready in 2021, but neither Bucharest Sector 4 Mayor Daniel Baluta, nor Metrorex director Dumitru Sodolescu disclosed the estimated costs of the extension. The mayor did however announced that a feasibility study worth RON1.3 million is currently being executed.

All of the construction and infrastructure costs necessary for the station will be ensured by the Sector 4 Town Hall.

The town hall previously announced its intention to also build a parking lot near the station, so that those who transit to Bucharest by car would be able to park them and use the subway system.
