Romanian Liberals To File No-Confidence Motion Against An All PDL Govt
Antonescu said before a meeting with the liberal students in Timisoara that the Liberal Party will follow the way in which interim ministers are appointed and a no-confidence motion will „undoubtedly be filed”, because a democrat liberal government would not have majority in Parliament.
Asked if the liberals negotiated a new government with the Social Democratic Party or the Democratic Liberal Party, Antonescu replied his party „has not and will not negotiate with any of these two parties, which need to take responsibility for the disaster they have created.”
Romanian social democrat ministers in the center-left coalition government handed in their resignations Thursday after President Traian Basescu endorsed the democrat liberal prime minster’s decision to sack social democrat Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Dan Nica.
