„Romanians have submitted 16,500 projects worth a total EUR36 billion, but not all are eligible. Only 4,200 have been approved, adding up to EUR9.7 billion, this is our EU fund drawing potential at the moment,” Dragoi said during a seminar on non-reimbursable finding.

He added only EUR800 million has been paid so far for the 2,500 projects that are underway. He said many of the projects are halted pending court rulings, as bidders have contested public auctions, and reminded the Government Is working to ease public procurement legislation.

The statistic does not include funding for the agriculture sector.
