Parliament Legal Committees Postpone Report On Uninominal Vote Law For Next Week

The committees for legal matters in Parliament completed Wednesday discussions on the amendments brought to the uninominal voting system law for which the government assumed responsibility, but postponed the report for next week, due to lack of quorum.

The Constitutional Court, upon the notification of President Traian Basescu, had declared unconstitutional certain aspects of the law.

Social democrat MP Florin Iordache, who presided the meeting, said the committees will assemble again next week to draft the report regarding this law, after parliament groups express their points of view on the law.

The report was supposed to be completed by Thursday, January 31.
