The conservatives are to elect a new president on January 27, when the current head of the party, Dan Voiculescu, will step down from his position.
Voiculescu announced late November that he had no intention to run for party president again.
Several members reportedly voiced interest in running for president, including Codrut Seres, head of the party’s executive council, deputy president Sabin Cutas, Deputy Bodgan Pascu and Florin Anghel, president of the local branch in Prahova county.
