Romanian Regional Development and Tourism Minister Elena Udrea said Thursday that, as long as the rents on homes built by the National Housing Agency (ANL) are so low, no one will be interested in buying them.

Speaking in the Romania Construct Forum, hosted by MEDIAFAX, Udrea added that every ANL parking lot has a car for every flat and "they are not cheap cars."
In September, Udrea said she is not satisfied with the sale of ANL homes, as only 100 apartments out of 22,000 have been turned over to their tenants. She asked mayors to speed up the sale of such homes.
ANL tenants may buy their homes under certain conditions, with the money going to fund the construction of new residences through the ANL.
