Romania 7-Mo Trade Gap +10.4% YY To EUR12.7B
In January-July, exports rose 18.5% on the year to EUR19.93 billion, more than the import growth of 15.2% to EUR27.543 billion.
After the first six months, the trade gap was 11.25% wider on the year, to EUR10.79 billion.
In July alone, the trade deficit widened 4.6% on the year, and was the result of EUR3.19 billion in exports and EUR5.07 billion in imports.
The European Union, which Romania joined in 2007, was the country’s main source of imports in the first half, accounting for EUR22.53 billion, or 69% of total imports in the first seven months.
