According to the hospital spokesman, doctor Andrei Ilinca, the fourteen people found in the vans involved in the accident were in the hospital at the time when this story was published, while doctors are evaluating the health state of each of them.
The quoted source said that investigations revealed various concussions in all the patients. "So far we do not know if all patients will remain in hospital, since we are currently evaluating their state," said Ilinca.
Six ambulances from the Prahova Ambulance Service arrived to grant first aid to the people injured in the accident, two of the ambulances being intensive care units. According to the director of the Prahova Ambulance Service, doctor Daniel Nicolae, intervened on location with all units available in the area at that moment.
The quoted source said that two of the victims to whom paramedics granted first aid, suffered serious injuries, which might endanger their lives, the others suffering fractures, bruises and trauma.
According to the chief of the Prahova county Traffic Police, Costin Tatuc, a van without passengers was trying to enter DN1, coming from the West and heading South.
The driver of the van did not yield to another cargo van, coming from North towards the South. Even though it was designed otherwise, the van contained, aside from the driver, another twelve people, workers at a construction firm, who were going to work.
Preliminary information supplied by police officers indicated that the accident resulted in the serious injuring of one person and caused flesh wounds in another six.
