Number Of Tourists Entering Romania Dn 10.6% On Yr In May

Most foreign visitors, representing 94.4%, came from European countries, while 63.2% come from EU member states. Hungary accounts for the highest number of tourists who entered Romania, with 38.8%, followed by Bulgaria with 19.2%, Germany, with 10.2%, and Italy – 7.9%, similar with a month before.

The number of Romanian tourists traveling abroad in May was down 1.7%, compared with the same month a year before. 

According to the INS release, the number of tourists entering Romania in January-May period was down 14.8% compared with the same period a year earlier, while the number of tourists accommodated in the country was down 20% on the year in the first five months.
