Romania Notified OSCE Press Freedom Rep On Moldova Situation

Romania has notified the representative for freedom of the media within the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) regarding the situation in Moldova, urging the investigation of all cases where freedom of expression was breached, foreign minister Cristian Diaconescu said.

"We plan to take all necessary steps regarding all Romanian citizens having problems related to free circulation,’ Diaconescu said during a press conference Thursday.

Asked about the situation of several Romanian journalists who were expelled from Chisinau, Diaconescu said Romania notified the OSCE representative for freedom of the media regarding these cases.

Four Romanian journalists were expelled by Moldovan authorities.
