The first Litro units will be opened on Bucharest-Constanta highway, Meraliev said at the anniversary of 30 years since putting in function the first installation of Petromidia refinery, the current Rompetrol Rafinare Constanta (RRC.RO).
Meraliev added that Rompetrol gas stations to be further upgraded will equally be named Litro.
KazMunayGaz, which fully owns Rompetrol group, will keep French Dyneff brand for now, but it will sell several companies held by Rompetrol in other countries. The business in Albania, where Rompetrol sells fuel, will be closed down.
The new chief executive of the Rompetrol Group will be Saduokhas Meraliev, the group’s current deputy general manager, after Dinu Patriciu steps down from this position.
In 2007, KazMunayGaz bought a 75% stake in The Rompetrol Group NV for $1.6 billion. End-June, the Kazakh company bought the rest of the shares from Dinu Patriciu’s owned company, Rompetrol Holding, for an undisclosed amount.
The Rompetrol Group operates in 13 countries and employs over 8,000 people. Its main assets are located in Romania, France and southeastern Europe.
