One Dead In Bucharest Subway Accident

The accident took place in unclear circumstances, though it is known that the victim was about 50 meters inside the subway tunnel, away from the station.

Emergency responders which arrived on the site declared the victim dead on site, and were not able to determine its sex due to severe injuries from the impact.

Investigators are currently trying to piece together the exact circumstances of the incident, with suicide deemed a possible cause.

Due to the accident, both Piata Romana and Piata Victoriei stations and subway traffic on the respective line were temporarily halted.
