Lower Chamber secretary Dumitru Pardau said President Traian Basescu submitted the country’s Defense Strategy to the Parliament’s two chambers, which decided that lawmakers in the special committees have until September 1, 2010 to draft a report on the strategy. The report will be debated during the Parliament’s fall session.
Romania’s Supreme Defense Council CSAT on Tuesday decided to submit the Defense Strategy, proposed by Basescu, to the Parliament for approval. Basescu said he is open to lawmakers’ recommendations.
The defense council also decided the country’s military presence in operation theaters abroad will be reduced by 319 troops in 2011, compared to 2010.
