According to the GCS, after diagnosing the pilot from Tarom with the new coronavirus, the company recommended to all the people who came in contact with the pilot to enter self-isolation at home.
„According to the first internal investigation, the person had contact with 9 pilots. Some of them also had contact with 22 colleagues and 19 family members. It should be noted that the activity of the other departments within Tarom is normal. The Airbus and Boeing pilots along with the navigating personnel carry out their normal activity, in compliance with the measures to combat and prevent the spread of the new coronavirus”, according to the GCS information on the situation at Tarom.
Also, the ATR fleet is operating normally, except for the direct contacts of the pilot.
The activity of Otopeni Airport and the air traffic management are not affected by this situation.
A Tarom pilot who had been on holiday in Austria was found positive with coronavirus on Tuesday, Tarom CEO George Barbu told MEDIAFAX.
