Boc, together with other Cabinet ministers, will assess the situation in the affected area.
Suceava county council head Gheorghe Flutur, of Boc’s Democratic Liberal Party, said the situation in the two counties is tragic. Ten people have died in the area, bringing the country’s flood death toll to 16, while others have been reported missing and hundreds relocated. Dozens of homes have collapsed and hundreds have been damaged, as have local roads, bridges, farmland and pastures.
Heavy rainfall and river overflows are still expected in northern, northeastern and part of central Romania at least until Wednesday morning.
