President Traian Basescu Attends Ceremony In SE Romania

Basescu decorated the battle flag of the "Mircea cel Batran" Naval Academy with the Order of the “Maritime Virtue" in rank of officer. In their turn, the academy officials offered the president a sextant, a compass and a monocle.

Basescu stressed during his speech that the Naval Academy not only trains marine officers, but it also prepares people for life."

Basescu himself graduated from "Mircea cel Batran" Marine Institute.
