„We are evaluating all the possibilities from the extension of the state of emergency, the establishment of the state of alert. We will make the decision as we approach 15 May and the evolution of the economy”, said Orban.

Asked if he was thinking about resuming economic activities, the prime minister replied: “We sought (…) to limit to a maximum the number of economic activities that we restricted. Regarding each existing restriction of an economic activity, we make a very serious epidemiological analysis. We are thinking about what possible measures to protect employees at work and what is the effectiveness of these measures”.

Also asked if July and August will be a holidays time, the prime minister said the final decision has not yet been made.

„Ministries are involved in adopting protocols for each economic activity. In terms of restaurant activity, it poses a fairly high risk. Few restaurants have compartments, you can’t wear a mask. We do an analysis of restaurants. It is unlikely that the activity for restaurants will resume”, said Orban.

The prime minister also said that travel outside the localities will not be possible in total freedom: “We would like to be the possibility for people to spend their time in holiday destinations. But it cannot be announced now with certainty”.

The statements were made by the prime minister at the special products factory in Dragomireşti, Dâmboviţa county.
