Organizations In 6 Countries Attend Theater Exchange In Sibiu, Central Romania
Organizers decided to relaunch the exchange this year, adapting the formula of theater exchanges in Freiburg and the dance exchange in Brussels.
The exchange this year will have a schedule including shows of cultural operators in Sibiu, workshops for cultural operators, show analysis and a contest. The contest winner will be invited to perform the following year within the theater festival in Sibiu.
This is the first year when topics for discussions between cultural organizations will include three shows to be viewed within the schedule: "Elling" and "Nora" of the Sibiu "Radu Stanca" National Theater and "Giocondele" of the Ariel Theater in Ramnicu Valcea.
Among topics for discussion among theater, opera and ballet companies there are "Introduction in fundraising/ Sponsoring for culture institutions", "Stage safety by European standards" and "Artists and taxes/ Ideas and tricks for intellectual rights contracts”.
"The exchange is conceived as a sale exhibition where any producer (companies, cultural institutions, theater schools, artistic management agencies, specialized media) presents an offer of shows, setting partnerships in favor of the free circulation of real values," said Constantin Chiriac, manager of the Radu Stanca Theater and of the International Theater Festival in Sibiu.
The 15th annual edition of the festival takes place May 29 - Jun 8. This year’s edition will unfold under the theme “ENERGIES” and will include over 350 events presented by theater companies in over 70 countries.
