The spontaneous rally started when, during a BNR Congress at the Romanian Peasant’s Museum, one of the participants announced that the social democrats intend to ptopose Gelu Voican Voiculescu as secretary of state in charge with the issues of revolutionaries.
Displeased with what they have heard, some of the revolutionaries decided to come in front of the PSD headquarters.
Even though they do not have authorization for this protest, the some 200 participants blocked the Kiseleff Boulevard, shouting "Thieves" and "Too bad about the blood shed."
The Bucharest police blocked the Kiseleff Boulevard with a van, to prevent traffic incidents.
A Gendarmerie crew came on location and repeatedly asked protesters to vacate the area.
At press time, the number of gendarmerie units grew visibly, and they surrounded the group of 200 revolutionaries, who are protesting peacefully.
Aside from shouting, the protesters are displaying banners against the honorary president of PSD, Ion Iliescu, whom they consider guilty for the deaths in December 1989, and against the appointment of Emilian Cutean as secretary of state in charge with the issues of revolutionaries, as Cutean is currently on trial for corruption.
