Over 750,000 Romanian Public Sector Employees Go On General Strike Monday

Over 750,000 employees in the public sector agreed to participate in the protest and not show up for work.

Unionists blame the Government guilty for the decrease of most wages in the public sector, through the frame law on the wages to the staff paid from public funds and the mandatory unpaid leave of ten days.

Neither the promises of Prime Minister Emil Boc to resume talks with unionists nor the statements of interim Health Minister Adriean Videanu that he found ways to solve money problems in hospitals didn't stop the unionists from resorting to the general strike.
