Over 40 people were injured after several vehicles collided on national road DN 2A, on Constanta-Medgidia route, southeastern Romania.

Over Forty People Injured In Car Crash SE Romania

Constantin Dancu, head of the Constanta Road Police Department, said the accident occurred around noon when a driver operating a careless maneuver was hit from behind by another car and ultimately crashed into a minibus on the opposite lane, which carried passengers on the Constanta – Medgidia route.
Following the violent collision, the minibus overturned and ended up in a ditch, injuring several passengers.
Moreover, other three cars coming from Constanta were also involved in the accident.
Traffic was halted for two and a half hours on both lanes and rescue teams within the local emergency inspectorate rushed to the scene.
Police officers with the Constanta Road Police Department said this is the worst car crash over the last ten years.
Doctor Bogdan Campineanu, deputy manager of the Constanta County Emergency Hospital, said 42 people, including five children, were taken to hospital, adding only four victims were hospitalized.
