„The new education law states the transcurricular evaluation of the students. This means the students will take two written tests, one in sciences and one in art. Aside from these tests, the candidate will also take a practical test of computer skills. The result of this evaluation, including the student’s portfolio, represents 70% of the admission grade. High schools wishing to organize additional tests for the selection of candidates will be able to do so. The high school test represents 30% of the admission grade,” Funeriu said.

According to the dignitary, the new evaluation system will be announced to children entering the fifth grade, because the amendments brought by the Education Law to the education system are applicable immediately as well as in certain timeframes, so that children will not be faced with a new evaluation system, for which they are not prepared.

The minister concluded the Education Law will be sent to the Government then it will undergo public debates for one month.
