Poettering Says MEPs Could Improve Vote Attendance In Romania

European Parliament president Hans - Gert Poettering expressed his regret for the low vote attendance in the Romanian EP elections, and he added that the activity of Romanian MEPs would bring greater numbers to the voting sections in the next elections.

In a press release, Poettering said that the day of EP elections was an important day for Romania.
He added that the 35 Romanian members would be the voice of Romanian citizens and they will represent the interests of Romanian citizens in the European Parliament.
Poettering expressed hope that the new EP members will soon fit in the activity of this forum and they will be able to bring their knowledge and experience to the table, to the benefits of those who elected them and that of the European project.
Referring to the poor vote attendance, Poettering said that a positive contribution from Romanian MEPs would improve the vote attendance in the future.
