Johannis said talks with social democrat leader Mircea Goana and liberal leader Crin Antonescu focused on the principles of the future cooperation.
"I believe we should not focus on details for the moment. Things have to be solved step by step and I am confident that, after elections, we will have a team ready to form the Government," Johannis said.
Geoana said they did not talk about future ministers, adding the final decision in this respect will be made by Johannis.
Johannis said Monday morning he accepted presidential candidate Mircea Geoana's proposition to have him nominated prime minister, adding he would come to Bucharest Monday for talks with Geoana and liberal leader Crin Antonescu.
Johannis said he talked to political leaders over the phone this past week and accepted to be nominated prime minister if Geoana wins the presidential election on December 6.
Johannis has been backed for prime minister by all parliamentary parties except the democrat liberals, whose minority government collapsed in a no-confidence vote mid-October. However, President Traian Basescu designated economist Lucian Croitoru for the position, whose proposed Cabinet was also rejected in Parliament. Lawmakers have so far refused to vote on Basescu's second proposition, democrat liberal Liviu Negoita.
