Flood Aftermath In NE Romania – Report
In northern Romania, in five counties, namely 137 localities, 73 homes were destroyed and another 2,196 damaged by the flooding, according to the report presented by Dobre.
According to Dobre, over 6,000 wells were destroyed, and seven kilometers of national road and 973 kilometers of county road are unusable.
He added that 1,044 bridges and 78 overpasses, 45 dams were destroyed. Flooding also destroyed 21,468 hectares of farmland and other 2,383 hectares of pasture.
State secretary Dobre said that 194,000 liter of mineral water, 16,000 kilograms of sugar and 11,500 liters of oil, nearly 50,000 food cans and 50,000 loafs of bread, 6,500 blankets and 30 tons of diesel fuel were distributed to the evacuated people.

In the Pascani area authorities prevented the full peak of the flashflood from destroying the locality.
The head of the Romanian Waters National Administration said that efforts are made to build up dams to protect the localities Blagesti, Nicolae Balcescu, Rachiteni and Tamas in northeastern Romania.
The Romanian authorities extended Monday the high risk floods warning for the rivers Siret and Prut at the borders with Ukraine and Moldova. The flood advisory is valid until Tuesday afternoon.
