Former Rompetrol CEO Dinu Patriciu Ranks First In Forbes Romania Rich List

Romanian businesspeople Dinu Patriciu, Ioan Neculae and Ion Tiriac rank first in the first edition of Forbes Romania's rich list, with fortunes estimated at EUR2.2 billion, EUR1.2 billion and EUR850-900 million respectively.

Fourth place is filled by businessman Gabriel Popoviciu, whose fortune is estimated at EUR600-650 million, followed by Emil and Marius Cristescu, with EUR600 million.

Popoviciu’s business partner, Radu Dimofte, ranks sixth with EUR450million, followed by Veronica Dragan, the wife of Iosif Constantin Dragan, whose fortune is seen at EUR420-450 million.

Micula brothers rank eighth in the top, with fortunes estimated at EUR400-450 million, which equaled that of media mogul Sorin Ovidiu Vantu.

The owner of oil company Upetrom, Gabriel Comanescu, fills the tenth place, with EUR420 million.

European lawmaker and owner of Steaua Bucharest Gigi Becali ranks 27th, with an estimated EUR200 million.
