The country’s public television station TVR reported overall revenues of some EUR144 million and total expenses of EUR152.2 million in 2007, the manager of TVR’s economic division, Cipriana Voicu said Monday.
According to the company’s financial report, SRTv was able to limit the financial decay in the second part of 2007.
Last year, SRTv president Alexandru Sassu said the public television had losses of EUR9 million after the first semester, mentioning he would launch an internal probe into the causes that led to this situation.
In addition, Sassu, along the head of Romania’s public radio network, Maria Toghina, asked the Parliament to grant financial support to the two institutions, due to their “difficult” situation triggered by the impossibility to collect radio and TV dues from consumers.
