Romanian Govt Approves 6/24 Amendments To Unitary Wage Law
Of the accepted amendments, five are changes to the frame wage law and one is a change to its application law, the Government said Monday.
The Government held a Cabinet meeting Monday to discuss amendments brought by lawmakers to the unitary wage law. The bill sets that base wages in the public sector are to increase 15% next year compared to October 2010 and the minimum wage will increase to 670 lei (EUR1=RON4.2997) from the current RON600.
Liberal Eugen Nicolaescu, a former health minister, said his party submitted amendments to the wage law, one of which calls for changes in wage grids for doctors and nurses.
Opposition social democrats submitted no amendments saying they consider the bill unconstitutional and plan to submit a motion of no-confidence over it.
