According to the US Department of Justice, Richard Morlok allegedly bribed several companies worldwide, including China National Offshore Oil Company, PetroChina, Jiangsu Nuclear Power Corporation in China, South Korea’s KHNP and Saudi Arabia’s Safco.

Richard Morlok, 55, pleaded guilty in front of a federal judge in Santa Ana, USA, to the accusation of conspiracy in making illegal payments to the officials of certain foreign governments, to obtain contracts for the company he owns.

The spokesman of Police Inspectorate in Romania’s southern county of Gorj, inspector Daniel Tica, said Wednesday that the policemen will begin analyzing the contracts signed by Rovinari plant between 2002 and 2006.

Rovinari power plant split up from state-owned electricity producer Termoelectrica back in 2004.

Ioan Pisc, the general manager with Rovinari power plant since 2000, said Wednesday he knows nothing on such a contract or any payments to a person from the plant’s management board.
