Rents Dropped 26% In Capital City Bucharest In ’09

Rent costs for three-room apartments reduced by only 24% to EUR490, while in the case of two-room apartments rents dropped by 26%, from EUR480 per month in January 2009, to EUR354 in January this year, according to a research conducted by real estate website MagazinulDeCase.ro.

According to the website, January 2010 did not bring about major changes compared to December 2009 regarding rent levels in Bucharest and Ilfov.

Rents for studios decreased by 3% in January 2010 compared to the previous month, from an average EUR273 to EUR263. In the case of two-room apartments, rent costs rdropped 2%, from EUR362 in December 2009, to EUR354 in January 2010. Three-room apartments registered the smallest rent decrease (1%) from EUR497 to EUR490.
