Romanian Govt Allots Extra RON195M For 2010 Clunkers Program

Boc said recently the Government would allot about 50,000 new vouchers for the 2010 clunkers program, as vouchers originally assigned for this year’s program were exhausted in less than one month.

The scrapping bonus was kept at RON3,800 and the Government initially said it plans to scrap 50,000 up to 60,000 old cars.

Romania’s 2010 clunkers program set off on February 18, after the Government relaunched the campaign for the scrapping of old cars. Under the new program, one owner can scrap multiple cars and receive multiple vouchers.
