Doctors said Kramer’s histopathological examination confirmed the appendicitis diagnosis, and doctors removed her appendix. However, contrary to their medical advice, she asked to be released from hospital to return to the United States.

Kramer told Maxim magazine in an interview she had to halt her shoot for „Return of the Living Dead: Necropolis” in Romania in 2005, after she was misdiagnosed by Romanian doctors who removed her appendix when she actually needed her gallbladder removed.

She told Maxim magazine she faced death after a medical mishap in Romania. She said she was feeling ill and Romanian medics determined she needed to have her appendix removed, a surgery that put her life in danger.

„I immediately started feeling sick. But I didn’t want to complain and be considered a problem. Eventually I had to go to the hospital. The doctor could barely speak English but said I had to get my appendix out,” Kramer said.

She added that, as she wasn’t getting better after the operation, she flew back to the U.S. to get a second opinion and was stunned when she was told the Romanian doctors had taken out the wrong body part and she needed a different organ removed.

„They (doctors in Romania) did the surgery, and six days of recovery time grew into two weeks when I caught pneumonia,’ she said, adding „I flew back to America, and the doctors here explained it was never my appendix; it was my gallbladder, and if they didn’t get it out I was going to die.”

Kramer is mainly known for her roles in TV series such as „One Tree Hill”, „Grey’s Anatomy” and „Entourage”.
