Ponta said the decision to withdraw the four codes from Parliament was made following talks with Justice Minister Catalin Predoiu.

The objective of the Justice Minister and of the Government is to resend the codes to the Parliament after improvements have been brought to them, until the end of the parliamentary session which begins in February.

“We don’t want to rush things, in order to have enough time to draw up an improved form of the Codes after consultations, but we also don’t want to drag things along,” Ponta added.
