US Vice-President To Meet With Romania’s President, PM Thursday In Bucharest

The US vice-president Joe Biden will meet Thursday, during a visit to Bucharest, with Romania’s President Traian Basescu, acting Prime Minister Emil Boc, social democrat leader Mircea Geoana and liberal leader Crin Antonescu.

Biden will arrive in Bucharest Wednesday evening and Thursday will meet with Basescu, Boc, Antonescu and Geoana, Biden’s national security advisor Tony Blinken said in a briefing Monday.

People close to the matter told MEDIAFAX on October 7 the US vice-president Joe Biden will meet with Basescu during a visit to Bucharest late October.

Biden will visit Romania, the Czech Republic and Poland in the 20-24 October interval, short after the United States decided not to place an anti-rocket shield on the Czech and Polish territories, said the White House which was cited by AFP.
