These financial benefits will continue to be granted until the end of October 2010 only for childbirth and first weddings registered by June 1. After October 31, these financial benefits will be cancelled.

Under current laws, mothers receive a financial aid worth RON230 for their first four children born alive, and newlyweds at their first marriage are granted a EUR200 financial aid.

The draft normative act also states that, starting this year, emergency financial aid for families or individuals affected by weather calamities, fire or accidents will no longer receive emergency financial aid. The Government will also eliminate financial help that can be granted through the national solidarity fund.
