Romanian July Forex Reserves Fall Slightly To EUR31.6B

End-June, hard currency reserves reached EUR31.627 billion.

The central bank said foreign exchange inflows stood at EUR3.054 billion in July, up from EUR792 million a month earlier, largely due to the fifth disbursement from the International Monetary Fund under a EUR13 billion loan agreement.

Foreign currency outflows stood at EUR3.1 billion in July, compared with EUR1.15 billion in June.

The central bank’s gold holdings were flat on the month at 103.7 metric tons in July, but their value adjusted for international gold price fell to nearly EUR3 billion from EUR3.37 billion a month earlier.

Romania’s overall international reserves decreased to EUR34.57 billion in July, from EUR35 billion the month before.

The payments due on public and publicly guaranteed external debt in August amount to EUR177 million, the data showed.
