The survey called “The media influence over the electoral behavior,” presented Thursday during a press conference at the National Audiovisual Council analyses apart from media related aspects, the main cultural activities Romanians do in their free time.
The survey included 2,000 people with ages over 18 years between September 1 and 25.
Eighty-seven percent of the people interviewed do not go to the cinema, while 8-9% go once, twice a year, 1% once a month and 1% a couple of times per month.
Eighty-nine percent of the population does not go to the opera or to concerts, while 8% go once or twice a year and 1% once a month.
In the same time, 86% of the population is not interested in watching theatre plays, while only 10% go once, twice a year to the theatre.
Eighty-two percent of the people interviewed said they do not frequent discos or clubs, 6% said they go only once or twice a year and only 1% declared to be club fans.
According to the survey, Romanians do not like reading. Fifty-two percent of the people interviewed said they never read while 28% said they do it, but rarely. Only 1% of Romanians read for more than four hours per day.
However, Romanians like something, and that something is listening to music. Almost 14% of the people interviewed said that they listen to music for at least two hours per day, and 12% listen for more than four hours each day.
