There Is No Liquidity Crisis In Romania – Ctrl Bker
"I have heard interpretations saying there is a liquidity crisis. We cannot tolerate (such interpretations e.n) and there can be no talk of a crisis. The minimum required reserves are at 40% for foreign currency and 20% for leu, thus there is plenty of liquidity potential," said Isarescu in the seminar "Monetary Policy: Evolutions and Challenges," organized by the central bank.
Isarescu added that it would be a mistake for pressure on liquidity to trigger a reduction in the levels of minimum required reserves.
