According to a press release issued by the central bank, the meeting takes place at Basescu’s request.
"Friday, October 17, at 11:00 local time, at the request of president Traian Basescu, there will be a meeting with governor Mugur Isarescu, the members of the central bank managing board, and with the presidents of commercial banks, where the conclusions of the European Council will be presented," the document reads.
The meeting will be held behind closed doors and media will not have access.
Basescu came to the central bank on March 19, where he discussed the macroeconomic evolution and visited the central bank’s museum and its thesaurus.
President Basescu attended Wednesday and Thursday the European Council reunion addressing the global financial crisis.
