Romania Cuts Over 47,000 Jobs By October
The employment agency said 519 companies throughout the country will lay off a total 47,208 people by October.
Most companies resorting to layoffs are based in capital city Bucharest (34) and counties Galati (30), Prahova and Cluj (22 each), Brasov and Constanta (21 each), Vrancea (20), Timis and Bihor (19 each).
The most jobs will be cut in Bucharest (4,525) and counties Prahova (4,088), Cluj (3,905), Brasov (2,627), Hunedoara (2,549), Timis (2,028), Arges (2,000), Arad (1,725), Bacau (1,448), Dambovita (1,422), Teleorman (1,344), Sibiu (1,293) and Vaslui (1,283).
Most jobs will be cut in the carmaking sector (4,742), constructions (4,119), chemical industry (3,335), oil and gas drilling (3,026) and the textile industry (2,913).
