Romanian Football Federation Manager Florin Prunea Suspended

The Romanian Football Federation (FRF) has suspended International Relations manager Florin Prunea, FRF vice-president Patritiu Abrudan told MEDIAFAX on Friday.

The FRF Executive Committee of June 22 decided that, as Florin Prunea is to face trial in court, his contract with the FRF would be suspended.

Florin Prunea, International Relations manager with the Romanian Football Federation, Cornel Penescu, owner of SC PIC SA Pitesti and of Argest Pitesti FC, Liviu Facaleata, general manager of SC PIC SA Pitesti, Dan Cristian Libertatu, former manager of the Arges County Consumer’s Protection Office and Gheorghe Constantin, former president of the Referee Central Commission (CCA) were indicted in June by the National Anticorruption Department.

Prunea is charged with influence peddling.
