Romania To Receive RON198M In EU Non-Reimbursable Funds For Tourism Investments

Romania’s Agency for Rural Development and Fishing APDRP will contract 269 tourism investment projects, which were shortlisted for funding via the National Rural Development Plan and will receive European Union non-reimbursable funds of 198 million lei (EUR1=RON4.1305).

„Projects were submitted within Measure 313 „Encouragement of tourism activities,” unfolded between October 12 and November 6, 2009. EU non-reimbursable funds to be earmarked for shortlisted projects exceed RON198 million,” the agency said in a press release.

Funds assigned for the projects submitted during the October-November period reached EUR68 million.

A total 329 projects, with an eligible value of EUR107.15 million, were submitted within Measure 313.

Non-reimbursable funds target to support a wide range of projects meant to develop tourist activities in rural areas.

Eligible beneficiaries include micro-enterprises and individuals that are not registered as economic operators and will undertake to get licensed with the minimum status of authorized private individuals and operate as micro-enterprise, until the signing of financing contract.
