Some 10,000 Romanian Interior Ministry Employees To Be Sacked In Next Two Months
Igas said after being heard in the Chamber of Deputies’ defense committee that he clarified aspects regarding the ministry’s reorganization process and dismissed surmises that the number of those to be sacked will reach 18,000.
The minister said the reorganization process is legal and added a series of Government decisions will be issued „to support the action”.
Igas highlighted the number of employees in the ministry’s central apparatus will be reduced below 1,000.
Igas and other ministry officials have been heard in the lower house’s defense committee Wednesday regarding the institution’ decision to cut employees’ food benefits in June, the plan to restructure the ministry and the country’s entry to the Schengen Area.
