International Analysts Say Romanian Economy Outlook Is Gloomy

International analysts are anticipating stagnation and even worsening of the economic situation in Romania, according to a study compiled by Erste Bank and the Center for European Economic Research. However, most people interviewed said that the current situation is acceptable.

Over 40% or responses received indicate anticipations for the worsening of Romania’s economy, the percentage of people estimating and improvement being only 7.8%, according to the study.
At the same time, 30% of respondents said that the current economic situation is good, while 26% of people interviewed had contrasting opinions.
Most answers display expectations regarding inflation hikes and climbs in interest rates.
At the same time, most analysts anticipate hikes in the Bucharest Stock exchange, but the 45.5% of people who replied in this manner is lower than the percentage registered in the previous study.
Analysts interviewed by Erste Bank and the Center for European Economic Research forecast that the Romanian currency will continue to drop compared to the Euro, the number of people with this opinion registering a climb.
The study published Monday included the replies of 73 experts on the financial market, regarding evaluations and outlook regarding the economic and financial data of the market.
