The authorities approved the proposals forwarded by the National Liberal Party, or PNL, regarding the structure of uninominal constituencies in counties Cluj, Bistrita-Nasaud, Giurgiu and Teleorman.
In addition, the authorities approved the structure of the constituencies proposed by the leftist Social Democrat Party, or PSD, for counties Gorj, Caras-Severin, Iasi, Ilfov, Olt and Tulcea.
Liberal Mihai Voicu, president of Romania’s Electoral Code Committee, said the parties would finalize negotiations for another 20 constituencies this week, and the proposals will be debated early next week.
The Committee has until July 20 to delimit the uninominal constituencies in view of the parliamentary elections. After that date, the decision regarding the constituencies will belong to the government.
