Gasoline Price May Reach RON5/Liter Unless Romania Cuts Excise Tax – Rompetrol Pres

A liter of gasoline might reach 5 lei (EUR1=RON3.7418), unless Romanian authorities cut and even the gasoline and diesel oil excises taxes in the following months, president of Romanian oil refiner Rompetrol Group, Dinu Patriciu, said Wednesday.

Patriciu said Romania’s oil output reaches 4.7 million tons annually, while the consumption reaches 14 million tons.

International oil prices, which also affect Romania’s fuel market, touched record highs in the last weeks, reaching $108 a barrel Wednesday.
