Contracts Inked By Romania’s Hidroelectrica To Be Made Public

The Romanian Ministry of Economy intends to make public the contracts concluded by state-owned power company Hidroelectrica with private energy traders, and will ask for approval from companies in this respect, energy market sources told MEDIAFAX Saturday.

“The Ministry of Economy will begin talks with the private companies on the possibilities for the declassification of contracts signed with Hidroelectrica,” the sources said.
According to them, the institution is also considering legal action if approval is not offered.
 
Officials within the Ministry of Economy held Saturday talks with the general manager of Hidroelectrica, Traian Oprea, regarding the company’s investment budget for this year and the company’s activity in general. The sources added the evaluation of Oprea’s activity wil continue next week.
 
Romanian president Traian Basescu asked the government to make public the manner in which energy is traded in Romania.
