Lower VAT For Food Prod Scrapped From Romania’s Final Governing Agenda
However, the final version of the center-left coalition’s governing agenda states the possibility that reduced VAT rates to be applied to some products.
The intermediate version of the governing program released on Tuesday stated the new Government would lower the value added tax to 5% for basic food products and increase it to 25% for luxury items, from the current 19%.
The program stipulates the 16% flat tax will be kept, but people with low incomes will receive compensation and tax deductions.
